                                  This six-story building features retail on the ground floor with luxury condominiums from the second floor up. Canas Solutions worked with COOKFOX Architects to realize this project.

                                   

                                  To complete the project, Canas Solutions coordinated documents between the Department of Buildings, New York City Planning Commission, NYC Landmark Preservation Commission, NYC Office of Environmental Remediation, and the Office of the NYS Attorney General.

                                  Working with The Stagg Group, one of the Bronx’s most prominent developers, Canas Solutions is helping to realize this 11-story, 142,000 square foot, mixed-use building on Webster Avenue.

                                   

                                  Due to the nature of the project as a new multi-use development on a previously undeveloped property, municipal approval was required from various city agencies including the Department of Buildings, MTA Metro North, HPD, NYC Waterway Revitalization Program, NYC Office of Environmental Remediation, the Office of the Attorney General, and Enterprise Green Communities. Canas Solutions helped to coordinate all the necessary documentation to facilitate the approvals process.

                                  Muji was founded 30 years ago on the idea of branding simplicity, which defined traditional Japanese homes & gardens. It brought to market what it envisioned as quality goods with a no-label philosophy.

                                   

                                  In total, Canas Solutions was asked to help rollout its four NYC stores including the flagship store on 5th Avenue, as well as locations in Cooper Square, Chelsea, and SoHo. Canas Solutions facilitated the approvals for Alteration Type-2 Build-Out, fire alarm and sprinkler applications.

                                  Continuing its work with The Stagg Group, Canas Solutions worked on this mixed-use structure on Van Cortlandt Avenue in the Bronx slated to be completed in 2019.

                                   

                                  This 13-story building features residential units as well as a community facility in the basement and the site needed to maximize the number of apartment units while staying within New York’s Housing and Preservation Development (HPD) requirements.

                                   

                                  The building is situated on a site that is in close proximity to two MTA subway tunnels running. One of the tunnels runs directly under the proposed building. This obstacle required significant coordination between the various permitting agencies.

                                  3595-3599 Broadway is a 12-story mixed-use building that is part of a community redevelopment project spearheaded by Columbia University. This commitment to redevelopment aims to provide affordable housing for residents living in the area of Manhattanville in West Harlem, where Columbia had built a campus extension.

                                   

                                  Working with MAP Architects, who was the designer and applicant of record and construction for the building, Canas Solutions acted as the expediter for the NYC Department of Buildings, DEP, Fire Department, and DOT for filing, approval, construction permits, and sign-off. Extensive coordination was required between Canas Solutions and MAP for this $35 million project.

                                    DOB Class 2 Representative

                                    Established mid-sized NYC architectural firm with in-house Municipal Expediting Department is seeking a DOB Class 2 Filing Representative to join our team. Candidates should possess comprehensive knowledge regarding the NYC Building Department and City Agencies’ procedures to obtain approvals, permits, and closeouts.


                                    Skills & Qualifications:
                                    • At least 4 – 6 years’ minimum experience as a DOB Class 2 Filing Representative
                                    • Must possess an active filing representative license (DOB )
                                    • Must be able to work as a team within our organization, as well as independently
                                    • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment in order to coordinate a high volume of projects
                                    • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
                                    • Must be able to decipher DOB records in order to guide clients through the CO/closeout process
                                    • Must possess a working knowledge of principles and terminology in the architecture and construction industries

                                    Responsibilities:
                                    • Review of plans to ensure compliance with NYC Construction Codes and Zoning Resolution
                                    • Attend Plan examination meetings and site inspections
                                    • Communicate with clients, consultants, and contractors
                                    • Update necessary internal software systems as necessary
